Plum Valley is something a little bit different for Chinatown - and that's instantly noticeable when you see the restaurant frontage. Matte black and modern graphics aren't the area's customary style. The differences continue inside with dark woods, contemporary styling and subtle lighting.
As for the menu, the aim is to use as much organic produce as possible. The main focus is on innovation and Chef Lam comes up with a new dish every day. Meals are artistically presented – and service, though attentive, isn’t stuffily formal or too intrusive.
Though good value, this is a stylish and intimate venue, and is giving the likes of Hakkasan and Yauatcha a run for their money. So if you enjoy Dim Sum and tasting Chinese food that is a world away from the local takeaway – give Plum Valley a try.
